What is the Intragastric Balloon Procedure?

For those of you that are unfamiliar with a gastric balloon treatment, also known as intragastric balloon treatment, it is a common medical procedure used to encourage weight loss in people suffering from chronic obesity.

Intragastric balloon treatment uses medical grade inflatable balloons that are typically made of silicone and places them into the main portion of the stomach. Inserting the intragastric balloon is done through a completely non-surgical method of placing the uninflated balloon into the stomach by way of the esophageal passage, then once the intragastric balloon is in the stomach it is inflated to a proper size.

The procedure is non-invasive, completely reversible, and much more affordable than other treatment options used to treat chronic obesity.
Recommended as an affordable non-invasive weight loss option when your BMI is between 30 and 40. It takes Dr Nunez approximately 2 hours to complete this procedure.

Advantages: No incisions required. Temporary; the balloon is only in the stomach for six months or less. Outpatient procedure is done under mild sedation; you return home the same day
